FACTORY AUDITS
Apart from ensuring the quality of your products are meeting your expected grade, the procurement process should always begin with ensuring the factory you choose to procure your products from is worthy of the task. To be worthy of this task means not only from the quality level but also from the social responsibility level. Great Lakes Global Sourcing looks at these factories from a Western perspective. We are here to be your presence on the ground offering you the "piece of mind" to know your chosen factory is capable of meeting Western standards.
Quality Audit: A quality audit is carried out to determine if your suppliers possess and adequately utilizes the quality credentials that are most commonly utilized in Western manufacturing organizations. We will verify if your supplier has a recognizable quality program, a verifiable quality statement and a quality manual that they follow and adhere to. We will check for ISO compliance as well as various other certified quality programs/accreditations. We will check if they are following in-process inspection procedures and final QA procedures. We will review their measuring tools they use to ensure they are in compliance and verify if they perform regularly scheduled tool calibrations.
Safety and Environmental Audit: The organization of a factory and the emphasis that management puts on its worker’s safety and well being is often a good indication of prevailing product quality. We like to take a look at Asian factories from a Western perspective. Often in doing so, the factory owners and management are astonished how “so many little things” can be of importance. Our team can assess the overall “factory health” of your supplier and provide it an unbiased rating.
Factory Presence Audit: This is a “quick look” audit which serves to verify that the supplier you have chosen is truly in existence and is in operation. We will take a look and confirm it has the proper business license to manufacture and will take a quick look and assess the overall factory appearance and skill sets from a tertiary level.
